First conceived on February 22nd, 2025, and first published on March 16, this newsletter is written by members of the South Central Young Democrats primarily for other members. It is an entirely volunteer run publication, with members attending local government meetings, writing articles, and submitting them. We strive to report the facts, and explicitly label author opinions or interpretations are present. All of this is a work in progress, so please be patient with us as we work to replace ??? with the intended content.
The accompanying Wiki is also maintained by membership, and is an attempt at clarifying the confusing nature of local government, as well as providing accessible context in articles.

Technology
This newsletter is written in Markdown using Obsidian.md, and published using the open source Quartz static site generator. This bare-bones approach allows for articles to be written quickly, formatted simply, and published on a lighting fast platform. Quartz being open source also allows us to make modifications and add features easily, something that most paid hosting platforms do not allow. Thanks to Cloudflare Pages, this site is also cheap to run (important for donation based organization), and incredibly easy to update.
This is also the technology behind the South Central Young Democrats website.
